Customer ratings and reviews for HP Slate 8 Pro

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great System I bought this for 2 of my kids...both worked very well. However one died for some unexplained reason. However, Customer support did what keeps me coming back to HP...they are putting it in for a replacement. I am extremely satisfied with HP's backing of their products. September 15, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by HP not supporting Slate 8 Pro with latest Android Still no current Android version (Kitkat) for existing Slate 8 Pro. Don't purchase if you expect updates, look elsewhere. August 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by good but touchpad was much better I bought two touch pads. My wife's died. She has mine, and I bought the 8 pro. Its OK.why doesn't the HP circle on the front have a function? Like the same spot on the touchpad? The border around the screen seems way to big. Wasted screen space. Its pretty good otherwise. I put android on touchpad worked well. June 10, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by ok overall, but some apps do not work Screen aspect ratio 3x4 is good, same as ipad mini. Size is bigger and thicker than other 8-inch tablets. Most serious problem is some apps do not work properly. For ex. gallery apps does not have setting to sync with Google account. Alsi Nook has problem: it is not possible to select text, thus cannot use dictionary. There are cheaper 8 inch tablet that function better. June 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love it. I mostly used it for business transactions and loved my baby white tablet. I haven't used it much, but the little I have used it I love it. Great product for good price. June 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Almost Perfect PROS: The HP Slate8 Pro looks very nice and has a premium feel to it and the screen is perfect. I love the 4:3 screen ratio, it just feels more natural. Speaking of the screen, it's beautiful. The colors really pop and there is no fading from any angle. It is blazing fast. I scored a 32313 on Antutu right out of the box. When reading reviews about this tablet, there was a lot of concern over it having only 1gig of ram, but I'll tell you now, that does not hold this tablet back. The camera is pretty good and the software makes taking pictures pretty enjoyable, however my phone is still my primary camera. CONS: It's a bit taller than I think it needs to be. Not really a big deal. The power button is so hard to push down because it's small and perfectly flush. If it's dark, I"m constantly fumbling around trying to find it. HP really missed an opportunity to make this thing perfect by not making the HP logo on the front do anything. This would have made great home button. The speakers, although really nice looking and sporting that beats red, are weak. They are louder than my old tablet and they sound really good, but they just aren't as loud as I had hoped. My phone speaker, while not as nice sounding, is louder. Although the 1gig of ram doesn't hurt it while benchmarking or playing games, you do notice that it can get a bit laggy if you have a lot of apps running. It's not like it cripples the tablet and it's not really too bad at all, but I've noticed it a few times. Conclusion: This is easily the nicest tablet I've ever owned and I have no buyers remorse whatsoever. The performance of it is off the charts. You'll find better, but not with an 8in screen and for this price. If they had made the HP logo a home button and a way to turn the tablet on and given it 2 gigs of ram (not that it really needs it, tho) it would be perfect. April 16, 2014
