Rated 1 out of 5Â by Albertrani Not good for Graphics
If you are going to use this printer for text output only, I've no problems with it. But, as I was told, due to the fact that it uses "fastref" 600 or 1200 dpi, rather than True dpi, it doesn't print graphics all that well. At least the graphics output is unacceptable to me. I use a program called "FinePrint" to manage some printing matters - allows one to put 2 or 4 pages of text on one print out page, among other things. It doesn't print well with that either.
I had been using an HP 1018 laserjet for years, but apparently, it died a natural death after thousands and thousands of great printing - for both text and graphics. It apparently used "True" dpi.
I've decided to buy another printer for graphics use, mainly, and just use this 1102w for text output of a simple nature. ps. putting it on 1200 resolution didn't help the graphics problem either, since it is not "True" dpi - but this "refresh dpi" - see the specifications and you'll see what I'm referring to - I believe it's under "Printer technology."

Rated 2 out of 5Â by TravelCommons Won't Always Wake Up
Good performance -- when it wakes itself up. At least 25% of the time, it appears to drop off the network. Although the blue wireless network light is solid (indicating a connection), PCs on the network can't connect and the printer can't be accessed through the browser via IP address. End up having to hit the wireless button and wait 1-2 minutes for the printer to re-connected to the wireless network before it'll print.

I love this printer! It's fast, trouble free, and it's inexpensive. It's a vast improvement over my Canon inkjet. Very good print quality.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Prospeed Best HP printer I could get
i usually read all the reviews before I buy something. I needed a printer so I've got this one. Thinking to sent it back if I don't like it. More than that I run into a very cheep all in one printer from Epson Stylus NX125( I payed 1 buck for it at a yard sale) that is actually very good and not older than 2 months but not laser jet or wireless. So I gave this one a week to see its capabilities. Man is so smooth and love the wireless for not having to hook it up all the time. and for the price that i paid for ithis laserjet is more than perfect. My 5 stars are actually 10 but they only have 5 :).

Rated 4 out of 5Â by verranswife Great little printer
I purchased this printer as a replacement for a LaserJet 1012 that I have had for over 7 years (and it is still working wonderfully), I got this one for the wireless capabilities, and energy efficiency.
I ran into a snag setting up the networking capabilities on this, and I am not exactly sure why. My network is secured so I started off using the USB cable. That was not a problem, the smart install software worked great. Then I came to the point where I attempted to set up the wireless portion. I couldn't get an IP address. I manually tried to set up the network and that still didn't work. I followed the instructions to reset the printer and find the network, and it still wasn't working. Then all of the sudden it did. I am not sure what the issue was. A couple of times when I was trying to auto locate the network, my network wasn't even an option, which is strange because the printer was inches away from the router. Anyway, once it found the IP address everything went smoothly. I installed the printer (wirelessly) to several other computers and everything is working well.
The print quality is excellent and the auto-off feature is great.I would buy this printer again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, inexpensive, laser printer.
