Firstly I got this at a very Best deal along with Nvidia Graphic card. I am happy I got the backlit keyboard.
So far the QUAD processor seems to be working OK, I dont say its very quick but surely a good Processor, and Energy Star can be of true, since I dont see system getting over heated heavily (Never tested any game though).
I just hope it has a good durability.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Shwerdna Good computer...Bad touchpad
I ordered this computer right from HP because I wanted a Windows 7 machine. The computer delivery was delayed (they come straight from China), but not inordinately. The computer is good but the touchpad is awful. Whatever happened to specific right and left click mouse buttons! The right and left click is inarticulate. Tried to rectify with tech support who were great, and while on the phone it seemed resolved, but then reverted to being intermittently responsive. That is the maddening thing. I can feel it clicking but nothing happens with the right click. I use the right click frequently to copy and past in Excel. As well in the Solitaire Game, the right click will only work if I use my thumb! I have had the software unistalled and reinstalled by tech support, have gone into the Synaptics Pad and selected out all the goofy finger moves (who uses these?!) to no avail. I'm thinking about returning the computer due to this annoying issue.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Devilfang117 this computer can handle almost anything
I have put some pretty intence games and software on this computer and it has been able to handle running in high preformance mode with max quality graphics in all games while running comunication software & background programs for music without taxting the system or getting very hot. the the HP Cool Sense feature is very effective. The BEATs Audio has a feature to turn it on or OFF wich makes me very happy. the back lit keyboard was so worth it . overall i think this computer will be able handle most of whatever you got to throw at it.

I place the ENVY on the same work surface where I use 4 other HP laptops. The very first thing I noted was that the left front corner of the laptop was not in contact with the surface. When I placed my hands on the keyboard, the laptop rocked. I immediately returned the laptop to HP.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Demetrius A nice 8 laptop but poor 7 performance
This model of laptop replaced my old HP Pavilion after repeated motherboard failures on HP's tech support's part, so they offered me this one to compensate though with Windows 8 as the OS. While this laptop is great from the screen size [big and spacious] to the touchpad [albeit a bit annoying when tapping and scrolling], it became a considerable flop when I had Windows 7 ordered and on it. Every now and again the wireless connection would drop for no reason, forcing me to run troubleshooting to fix the default gateway on repeated occasions, throwing off my general online experience [note that this never happened with any other of our laptops]. Furthermore, OS took longer to boot up than when I had Windows 8 on it despite the specs I ordered [i7 processor and 12GB of memory], which also put me off since my Pavilion took considerably less time to boot up/resume from sleep. The nail in the coffin was when the laptop randomly shut off on me without warning and wouldn't boot back up for about an hour.
HP has let me down some times in the past, and while I was excited about them reviving the use of Windows 7, this purchase was a real let-down despite the properties I had set on it. Fortunately I was able to return this laptop for a full refund and ordered a less powerful [but also more reliable] computer. Here's hoping HP will also bring back their Win7 laptops as well, like the dv4 and so on.
