Rated 4 out of 5Â by vasquezh61 Everything that I needed
I bought this computer a month ago and I have not experienced any issues. Windows 8 and the touch pad are taking a little getting use to, but is not a big deal. Start-up is really fast. You will enjoy Beats Audio with quality headphones. Overall, I'm satisfied.

I can not complain about this computer/laptop performing well. Literally, it worked extremely well.
However, the left one-third of the backlit keyboard had a "hump" in it, making use a bit touchy and required a lot of back spacing. (From the Y, H and B keys and to the left there was a defined rise in the keyboard).
Also, I had a great deal of Wi-Fi loss. By that, I mean the Wi-Fi would randomly stop working or the signal would reduce to a level which rendered web page navigation impossible. It felt like it was running on the old dial-up connections. Slow and challenging.
I had to return this laptop for a refund. I hated to do that because of the obvious and delightful performance that it demonstrated. However, I do use on-line graphical interfaces and design, and I needed the connection to the net to remain solid. I even connected using a Cat 6 cable and it did improve a little. But that too, was unstable. I compared the performance of the router and cable modem against two other computers, and I found that this new laptop was failing miserably. The other computers had no issues at all.
I would rate this laptop at 5-stars IF it hadn't failed in the network interface features. I think I may have been able to get used to the hump in the keyboard. (I don't have "fluid" typing skills).
HP was there to offer a full refund under the circumstances. Helped me with quick and cordial service. 5 stars to HP support! Thank you!

After my Pavilion laptop was in for repairs 3 times while under warranty, HP sent me this Envy as a replacement. My case manager was wonderful - very helpful with "speed of light" response time.
Unfortunately, the Envy quit after just 6 weeks. All of a sudden, I lost my Internet connection and got an error message indicating a major problem with the WiFi card. Thinking it must be a false error message, I tried to restart the laptop. I thought sure that everything would be fine again after rebooting. But it was not.
The laptop would not restart. I turned it off and tried to turn it back on again. It powered up, and I could hear the DVD player spin up, but there was no display and the keyboard would not light up. I tried multiple times to get the laptop to start with no luck. So it has been shipped back to HP for repair under warranty.
This Envy is my third HP laptop in 2 years and also the third to develop a significant problem during the warranty period. I have now lost confidence in HP products altogether.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by matt72 very good tech and getting used to windows 8
This laptop has very good performance and excellent features. The only thing to get used to is windows 8. Windows 8 is not as bad as everyone says, it just takes some getting used to.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by AngelL What more can go wrong?
The laptop sounds like it has great specs. This was actually a replacement, and ended up being a nightmare for me. After months and months of trying to get my original laptop fixed no luck. I ended up eventually finding the right person with the wrong product. Michael which was my Case Manager was amazingly hopeful and tried his best to meet my needs. did an amazing job, took his time to meet every spec and features i wanted. The laptop gave me problems as soon as I removed it from the box. I was stuck on the blue screen for about 2 to 3 days and massive system recoveries later it finally became usable. It seems fast but I run into random lags or system decides to give an update and will stay stuck on the updating screen. When ever I try to watch a movie it also randomly freezes. Laptop is very buggy and I'm not blaming him or any customer service representative. beside their job isn't building the actual product, it's handling customers with satisfactions. I needed a laptop with enough power to handle my music recording/ Photography and even though this fits into my needs it didn't work out.
