Customer ratings and reviews for HP Pavilion 23-g010 All-in-One Desktop PC (ENERGY STAR)

Rated 1 out of 5 by Unexpectedly Poor Performance I bought this all-in-one for my wife because price and name looked good. The reviews online looked good, but I guess they were for the Intel-based Pavilions, because this Pavilion is a dog in all respects - programs lock up and don't respond while the CPU and RAM struggle. The McAfee that came with it eats up all the memory by itself. An email client and browser open at the same time lock the computer up and make it unresponsive for large fractions of a minute at a time. I had expected the HP service and capability that I've known in the past with computers and printers I've helped others set up. Was I ever wrong. I don't recommend this computer to anyone. This has poorer setup, clock-speed and performance than my 2005 Gateway I3-core, which also had 6GB of RAM. Now I'm going to have to convince my wife to either let me convert this clunker to Linux or I'll need to buy RAM and another CPU for this pig. September 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by no instructions and un familiar features The unit arrived with any information about how to get from out of the box to using that I had come to expect from HP. I would have had to get professional help to get it to where I could use it. Too much hassle, I returned the unit. July 11, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by The slowest computer Wish I had never purchased this one. I have had very good luck with HP products in the pass, so I had no problem when I saw this online in purchasing it. Wish I had read the reviews first. What I get for putting to must trust in HP. I am sick of it and ready to get rid it as soon as I can afford another computer, maybe I can sell this one, but I would not sell it to a family member..lol July 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by This is the worst This computer is so disappointing. Looks great but does nothing. I am a simple person use internet once in a while but love to play my down load games. This computer will accept some games but then not others. The ones it does accept can not always be opened. The hp store hardly ever opens. most programs that came with this computer don't work. Internet explorer on desktop screen never opens. (some kind of proxy issue) Is there a lemon law for computers?? June 9, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by It's a miserable product I have had mine for about a month, and already have had to replace the hard drive once and reinstall the software at least three times. It takes 10 minutes to get to the start screen because it is so slow getting there. That is if I am lucky enough to get there because I keep getting the "no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed" error message. If I get it to run at all, it will ask for updates, but each time I agree to install the updates, I lose my personal settings. April 11, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Average PC - Nothing special PC does not function well. DVD drive E: does not work at all. Can't copy or even play a music CD from it. It is not even shown as a drive on the control panel - my computer files/programs. Windows 8.1 is disappointing. Too many of the good windows 7 programs dropped and few choices as to replacements. Too many incompatibility issues. April 1, 2014
