I thought I was getting a book, but instead I got a DVD case with no DVD in it. All I got was a piece of paper with instructions for how to go to some web site, an obvious attempt to get me to buy something. I wasted ten dollars on an advertising box!

I am brand new to Windows 8, but am a very experienced computer user, having worked as an IT manager and administrator in my working days. Microsoft Windows 8 is so new and utterly different that this training was a great big plus to my HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1355 purchase. The training is excellent, and isn't just a one-time deal. You can run the lessons over and over again, to catch the stuff you will probably miss the first time around (at least until you try them yourself). And there are plenty of tricks, tips, etc. that you can download as part of the online course material and use it for reference material after your subscription runs out.
Do I like the Whole Library 90-day subscription? Oh yeah, so much so that I bought a 2-year subscription so I can go through many of the OTHER courses that are available through the Whole Library subscription. So after my 90 days from HP expire, I can use the online training for two more years! The Total Training folks made a Christmas season discount offer on one- and two-year subscriptions that was WAY too good to pass up, considering the quality of the training.

I enjoyed & will continue to review for the products through the service agreement. The beta version froze a few times & showed the section wasn't completed but had only a second or two left.

Can only watch Adobe training video. Have tried to watch the Windows 8 training course but after selecting windows 8 the system seems to default to the Adobe training video. I have tried many times but have now given up.

Did not go into some of the features and how to turn them off, like the time and date that keeps swimming across the screen

So you crank up your brand new computer with this strange new Windows 8, try to get "total training for Windows 8" fired up, and you are met with messages about having to get some upgrades on the internet in order to log onto their website, complete with links that don't work (Something from "flash" and something from MSN as I recall). After making several attempts at fulfilling their requests, I got some freaky picture of a woman telling me about her credentials and that she was going to teach me about Adobe something-or-other. This website is written by geeks for geeks, and not a way to learn about something new. Do yourself a favor and put your money toward Windows 8 for Dummies. Of course, Total Training is "guaranteed to make you more proficient" , but no mention on how you collect on that broken promise.
