Customer ratings and reviews for 8 Cell Battery 4.4Hr

Rated 2 out of 5 by not the best replacement battery Not real impressed with a new battery that seems to hold about the same charge as the one I was replacing. I work on computers, so feel confident that I started using the battery correctly. Plugged in the new battery and charged it. Unplugged power to laptop and completely drained the battery. Recharged it fully without using computer. Then unplugged from power to use up battery. Didn't seem to last as long as I would have expected. I assumed it would take one more complete drain and recharge to hold a good charge, but again it only lasted a couple of hours. Only using laptop at the time for wireless internet and battery was about spent after a couple of hours. Not real impressed with this as a replacement battery. Luckily, this laptop will mostly be used as a desktop replacement so I'll be near power source and docking station most of the time. July 2, 2009
Rated 1 out of 5 by dv9000 Battery "NOT" I read these comments and thought wow...someone gets an hour on a battery with the dv9000...that would be amazing. I can't get 20 minutes. That's real sad for a $2000+ laptop. Guess what I won't be buying again? June 29, 2009
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great Laptop Terrible Battery Life My business partner bought the Pavillion DV9000 as more useful office computers for the company in 2004. The HP laptops have been wonderful. The first battery that came with the laptop lasted about two years. The second about 18 months. The third barely made it through a year. I have had to park the laptop because it is eating up our media budget. The other laptop does not use batteries as quickly, but it is not used as often. No, the laptop does not stay plugged in all the time. It stays in its case, battery in a separate compartment. I was told that is the best way to store the laptop. So today, I am finally ordering battery number 4. At these battery replacement prices, we may have to go back to another brand, which I liked much less. What a shame. June 15, 2009
Rated 2 out of 5 by Crummy Working Time It is understandable the the bigger screen would eat up more battery life, but HP should consider making a better battery to accommodate this fact. I've had my laptop for about a year and the battery no longer lasts a lecture (1 hour 45 mins). May 5, 2009
Rated 2 out of 5 by Battery is a disappointment I thought the LION batteries were supposed to be much longer lasting. I'm disappointed. Perhaps there are battery management techniques that should be used. If so, they should be included with the batteries. Another reviewer said he left it on AC to charge all the time and thought that was a problem. I'm guilty of the same thing and didn't know it. April 9, 2009
Rated 2 out of 5 by Battery for Pavilion dv9000 Both the original battery and a replacement spare battery only lasted about 1 year before reduced run time made them only useful for moving from one AC outlet to another. I'm ordering another with hopes that the battery has been improved. I think my mistake has been to leave the battery in the computer and on AC most of the time. HP should have software on the computer to prevent destruction of the battery due to overcharging. April 4, 2009
